Custom ordering app

Ordering app live within 4 weeks
The Situation

The same retailer who launched their own brand needed a customer-facing ordering flow that their wholesale buyers could use without calling. Shopify wasn't right — their wholesale logic needed custom pricing tiers and a minimum-order rule per SKU.

The Match

We looped in an automation partner who had built two internal ordering systems for importers in the past year. He already understood the wholesale pattern and didn't need it explained twice.

The Friction

Halfway through build, the retailer added a request for a WhatsApp notification on every order. It wasn't in scope. We negotiated a small extension rather than pushing it to a second phase, because the partner could wire it up in an afternoon.

The Delivery

A web ordering app with tiered pricing, SKU rules, order history, and WhatsApp notifications. Live in twenty-six days. First wholesale order came through within forty-eight hours of launch.

The Takeaway

Scope creep is fine when the builder knows what's easy and what isn't. That judgment only comes from having shipped the same thing before.
